About Us

Dr. Yom-Tov Samia, The Chairman of HelioFocus and the President of IC-Green Energy, the Renewable Energy Division at Israel Corporation. From 2005 to 2006, Dr. Samia was director and chairman of the investment committee for three pension funds of Harel Insurance Group. In 2003, Dr. Samia retired as President and CEO of the Baran Group, the largest planning & engineering group in Israel, to found YAM-Deshers, a real estate consulting management service. Prior to joining Baran in 2001, Dr. Samia was in the Israeli Defense Forces for 29 years, where he ended his service as a Major General (2 Stars). Dr. Samia currently serves as a member of the board of trusties at Ben-Gurion University and at the Israel Strategic Dialogue Center of the Netanya Academic College.
Dr. Samia received his BA in General Degree from Tel-Aviv University, MA in Political Sciences and Ph.D. in Sociology and Political Science, both, from Haifa University. 

Mr. Shi Chuliang started his career with Sanhua Holding Group, a one of TOP 100 Private Companies in China integrated of refrigeration and air-conditioning components, automobile components and real estate. He started as an engineer after his graduation from Shanghai Jiaotong University in 1989. Mr. Shi was appointed as Chief Engineer in 2001, Vice General Manager of Sanhua Holding Group 2002-2006, Vice General Manager of Danfoss-Sanhua Micro-Channel Heat-Exchanger Co., Ltd. 2007-2009. Now, Mr. Shi Chuliang is the Director, Chief Engineer and Head of Advanced R&D Center. During his 20 years’ career In Sanhua, Mr. Shi Chuliang has held his own patents in engineering and created a new management system with Sanhua characteristics. Mr. Shi Chuliang received his BS in Engineering from Shanghai Jiaotong University and EMBA from Fudan University.

Dr. Zik, Co-founder and a director of HelioFocus. From 2007 to 2009 Ory was CEO of HelioFocus. From 2001 to 2006 Dr. Zik was the Founder and CEO of QuantomiX Ltd. The company solved the problem of imaging live samples with an electron microscope. Prior to that Dr. Zik led a spinoff of El-Mul technologies where he developed a nanotube- based electron source. In 1998, he developed a solar thermal technology at the Weizmann Institute of Science. This was done while consulting to international environmental organizations on clean technologies. Dr. Zik holds B.Sc. (cum laude) in Physics and Mathematics from Tel Aviv University as well as M.Sc. (cum laude) and Ph.D. in Physics from the Weizmann Institute of Science, in Israel, where he received the Feinberg physics award and the Amos De Shalit physics prize. Among his not for profit activities, Dr. Zik was the scientific director of Israel’s National Museum of Science.
